BASICS
1. Everything you write must be believable. 2.
Dramatize your point of view through characters rather than a flat statement from the author. Let your characters move
the story along. 3. Don't overlook the importance of setting and all plots should be a combination of external action
mixed with internal understanding. What is not said between the lines is as important as the lines themselves. Suggestion
is more potent than a flat statement. Implication is more effective than explicit. Let the reader fill in the gaps. Appeal
to his senses, sight, sound, smell and touch. 5. Avoid passive verbs as much as possible. Use active verbs and appeal
to the reader's imagination. 6. Balance the dialogue with the narrative. Dialogue should be brief giving knowledge to
the reader with one thought at a time. 7. Make sure you "hook" the reader early in the book.
